ABSTRACT
The aims of this project are to analyse the various ways in which students spend their money and how to spend their money wisely. According to the analyses, student’s spend their money school. One of the factors which influence the students on spending money is age. Analyses of variance (ANOVA) were used to analyse the various ways students spend their money. Students should avoid too much spending and should wisely use their money on important items.
CHAPTER ONE
1.1 BACKGROUND OF STUDY
Expenditure is /may be referred to as the spending or using of funds (i:e) financiers. For a fact, this term can be used and is invaluable in the various places; Government parastatals, individual firms, other organizations.
Government does enpend/spends finances for different projects like construction of roads, Building of schools. For a certainty, this will bring about most and highly recommended developments to the country, with respect to the students as a matter of fact due to the cynosure of this research, they collect money from their parents as pocket money which motivates them to spend on various aspects termed as expenditure. [Transport fares, educational materials, clothing, feeding e.t.c].
Definition of terms and concepts involved.
(a) Clothing; These are the thing we put on as a covering for our body.
(b) Food; sustenance for life (i.e). To be consumed by way of eating.
(c) Drinks; Either alcoholic or non-alcoholic liquor which may be drunk.
1.2 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
Expenditure by the students are acts of spending or using money for expenses by students. for example, school fees, thesis (term paper), projects e.t.c
In addition, this research work has been very much invaluable; it will in effect help the researcher to comprehend how much students spend for each semester and how students should avoid unnecessary spending. It also will enable parents or sources of sponsors know much they right to remit to their children who are in the higher institutions.
1.3 AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The aim of this project is to determine the various ways in which student’s spend their money and how to spend their money.
i) To determine the significant difference in the mean values between the individual groups.
ii) To determine if the student’s expenditure i.e (feeding, practical, clothing and textbooks) depend on the departments or on the student’s usage.
iii) To determine if the student’s expenditure is dependent on their ages (i.e) Does the age affect the spending of money or not.
