Socio-economic impact of Russia invasion of Ukraine – Lessons for African states

Socio-economic impact of Russia invasion of Ukraine; Lessons for African states On February 24, Russia invaded Ukraine, casting a long shadow across Africa, as it did throughout the rest of the world. Despite their physical separation, Ukraine and Africa have strong ties, with over 8,000 Moroccans and 4,000 Nigerians studying in Ukraine and Ukraine sending more than $4 billion to Africa. While some African countries may benefit from a shift in global markets away from Russia as a result of the crisis, the immediate economic consequences are troubling, and the implications for pan-African solidarity and commitment to multilateralism are becoming increasingly doubtful. The Role of African States in the Fight Against Russia Invasion of Ukraine

The Role of African States in the Fight Against Russia Invasion of Ukraine While the majority of attention has been focused on the crisis’s implications on transatlantic relations and NATO unity, it also acts as a critical litmus test for conceptions of African solidarity and regionalism in general. The African Union (AU), the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and the Southern African Development Community (SADC), all of which were established to represent this solidarity, have been undermined in recent months by disagreements among heads of state over how to address the recent wave of coups in the Sahel and the rising insurgency across the continent. At large demonstrations in Burkina Faso, the Central African Republic, Guinea, and Mali, the Russian flag was prominently displayed, and military commanders invited Russian...

The Impact of the Russian Invasion of Ukraine on the Economic Strength of Ukraine

The Impact of the Russian Invasion of Ukraine on the Economic Strength of Ukraine CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION 1.1       Background of the study According to Benkovskis (2022) twenty-five years after the collapse of the Iron Curtain, the current acute crisis in Russian-Western ties is not only a tremendous setback, but it is also escalating into a hazardous geopolitical clash. The conflict's economic ramifications are as serious: not just for Russia (and, of course, first and foremost for Ukraine), but also for Europe's still-fragile economic recovery (Brill,2022). The conflict's ramifications stymie desperately needed investments and GDP development in Russia, which was already "locked in transition and stagnation" before the present crisis occurred, as well as economic reform and modernization (Benkovskis,2022). The purpose of this study...

An Analysis of the Russian-Ukrainian War on the Relationship Between Russia and Its NATO Allies

Research on An Analysis of the Russian-Ukrainian War on the Relationship Between Russia and Its NATO Allies CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION 1.1 Background of the study Since Ukraine's independence in 1991, tensions between the two countries (Ukraine and Russia) have been obvious (Orest,2009). Since then, Ukraine has remained one of Russia's most powerful satellite republics, influenced by Russian politicians, oligarchs, and corporations (Orest ,2009). After independence, the Ukrainian government exhibited a high level of corrupt practices hence, represented the interests of its citizens poorly (Ilko ,2018). The Orange Revolution in Kyiv (2004-2005) protested Russian meddling in Ukraine's constitutionally independent politics and signaled the country's determination to institutionalize democracy (Brian ,2020). Despite this, Ukrainian society remains...
