Effective Communication as a Tool for Good Management (A Case Study of BUA Cement, Sokoto)


This study employed a quantitative survey research approach to examine the communication dynamics at Bua Cement Sokoto. A structured survey instrument was created to gather information from 120 participants, who were managers and staff members who had direct involvement in organisational communication procedures. SPSS27 was used for data analysis, which made it easier to present and analyse the information that had been gathered. To investigate the impact of communication techniques and impediments on management efficiency, hypotheses were assessed using t-tests. The results showed that effective communication techniques had a favourable impact on the organization’s management productivity. Furthermore, it was determined that bureaucratic structures and organisational hierarchies posed serious obstacles to efficient communication. The study concluded that Bua Cement Sokoto and related organisations might improve communication effectiveness by putting in place frequent feedback mechanisms and communication workshops. Among the suggestions were developing centralised communication platforms, investing in communication training, and reorganising organisational hierarchies. All things considered, this study advanced the theory of organisational communication and provided useful advice for enhancing communication procedures and fostering organisational success.

  3. How can Bua Cement Sokoto enhance its communication practices to improve management effectiveness?

Objectives of the Study

The following specific objectives of this study include:

  1. To analyze the communication strategies utilized by Bua Cement Sokoto in its management processes.
  2. To identify the key obstacles impeding effective communication within Bua Cement Sokoto.
  3. To recommend practical measures for enhancing communication effectiveness within Bua Cement Sokoto and similar organizations.

Research Hypotheses

The following hypotheses were formulated:

Null Hypotheses(H0):

  1. Bua Cement Sokoto’s adoption of clear and transparent communication strategies does not positively influence its management efficiency.
  2. Organizational hierarchies and bureaucratic structures do not pose significant barriers to effective communication within Bua Cement Sokoto.

Alternative Hypotheses(H1):

  1. Bua Cement Sokoto’s adoption of clear and transparent communication strategies positively influences its management efficiency.
  2. Organizational hierarchies and bureaucratic structures pose significant barriers to effective communication within Bua Cement Sokoto.

 Significance of the Study

This research is extremely important for the academic community as well as business. This study provides important insights into the fundamental principles and mechanisms that drive effective communication strategies by exploring the dynamics of communication inside organisations.

This study gives organisational leaders the information and resources they need to maximise their communication strategy by exposing the opportunities and problems present in communication practices. With the help of these insights, managers can foster an environment of open and honest communication within their companies, which will improve output and increase their ability to compete in the market.

In the actual world, effective communication is a vital component of organisational success and is not just a theoretical idea. Managers and executives can improve teamwork, streamline communication channels, and more effectively align organisational goals by putting the research’s recommendations into practice. Better decision-making, increased staff morale, and eventually better company outcomes follow from this.

Moreover, the study’s practical consequences encompass not only specific organisations but also the wider economic arena.
