ABSTRACT
This study was carried out to examine the impact of famers and herdsmen conflict on household, Nangere of Yobe State. To achieve this objective, three research questions and two research hypotheses were formulated to guide this study. The data was collected from primary sources. The primary data were collected with the help of a well-structured questionnaire of two sections administered to the selected respondents in Nangere Local Government Area of Yobe State. The data collected were analyzed using research questions while t-test statistical method was employed to test the research hypotheses. The findings revealed that there is a significant difference between the causes of farmers and herdsmen conflict in Nangere of Yobe State and there is a significant difference the level of awareness of Nangere people on issues relating to food security in Yobe State. The study concluded with some recommendations that the Federal government of Nigeria should deploy a Joint Task Force comprising military, police, paramilitary and civil institutions to all the affected states as an immediate response to the conflict. This will help restore law and order and build confidence of the general populace in the ability of the government to respond to threats. The military could be deployed to the conflict zones to create safe and secure environments peaceful enough to inject long-term strategies for ending the conflict and engaging in peace building.
