Abstract
In Nigeria, the driving license is the official document which authorizes its holder to operate various types of motor vehicle on highways and some other roads to which the public have access. In Nigeria, they are administered by the Road Safety Commission. A driving license is required in Nigeria by any person driving a vehicle on any highway or other road defined in s.192 Road Traffic Act 1988 irrespective of the ownership of the land over which the road passes thus including many which allow the public to pass over private land. This project on Online Driving Licensing Registration and Renewal System will in many ways facilitate proper documentation of driver’s license registration and licensing in Nigeria. It will also help Road Safety Commission track people who are not supposed to drive vehicles due to non-issuance of driver’s license. Hence the implementation will help to generate revenue for the government and facilitate timely licensing of driver’s license. This system is recommended to be used in other licensing issuing offices within or outside the country. The system is implemented using PHP as the programming language, MySQL as the database management system, JavaScript as the scripting language, HTML as the presentation language, CSS as the style-sheet language, and WAMP as the local development server.
