ABSTRACT
This is based on the school infrastructure and effective teaching leaning in public primary school in Abeokuta South Local Government Area. Simple random sampling techniques and used in selecting the schools and respondents for the study. The participants consisted of 20 teachers in each school and it is made up of 100 teachers. A descriptive research design was adopted for the study. A questionnaire titled “School Infrastructure and Effective Teaching Learning in Public Primary School” (SIETLPPS) was prepared had used to collect data for the study. The data so collected through the questionnaire were analysed using Pearson product moment correlation co-efficient to test the hypothesis. It was suggested among others that a specific percentage of educational budget should be made available for provision and maintenance of the school infrastructure.

INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The fast depreciating rate of primary school buildings in Nigeria is of grave concern to stakeholders in Education. Most of the schools building are in terrible state of despair because of poor maintain our public structures and facilities until they have completely collapsed and devasted. This scenario is however not peculiar to primary school buildings and infrastructure but also applicable to Nigerian roads, government vehicles, public buildings and government industries. There are obvious non-maintenance and careless use of public utilities.
The future of any society very must depend upon the quality of its youths. As such, many writers have emphasized the needs for proper child up bring. Muklerjee (1978) said and I quote “proper home, care in rearing children during early days (primary school age) after birth may lead to the desired behaviour in their personality. The home is dwelling place where children are brought up by the family. It is also a place where the child’s earliest education or socialization usually beings and hence, served as the first instructional materials. For the child education in the other hand to many educators is a process by which people abilities and talents are developed.
The above presents a commenting position of most of the Nation’s Primary Schools. In some schools roots are blows off, walls are dilapidated and furniture items are poor and grossly inadequate. Some school buildings have been built about four (4) decade ago. Whereas, the depreciation of school physical structure and infrastructures depends on various factors as the quality of the original construction and materials, and quality of maintenances to accommodate effective teaching learning in public primary schools. Some building have life span of about fifty (50) years whereas, some can function effectively for not more than ten (10) years.
1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
This is concerned with the maintenance of school infrastructure and effective teaching learning in public primary school in Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The primary school administration (public) has the responsibility for determining the quality and quantity of the school infrastructure and effective teaching learning that will be needed effective teaching learning that will be need to enhance teaching and learning. He should also map out the legitimate strategies for procuring the facilities for the users’ maintenance culture to strength the lives of the facilities.
1.3 PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
This research work is an attempt to:
i Analyse maintenance of school infrastructure and effective teaching learning in public primary school.
ii. Examine its functionality.
iii. Determine the extent to which functional aspect has been helpful to the public primary schools in Nigeria.
iv. Finally, the research work will see how to fulfill the desired vision for the maintenances of school infrastructure and effective teaching learning by the school administrator.
1.4 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
The study will help to give an understanding of what really cause damages to the infrastructure facilities in public primary school. The main significance of this study is to examine how pupils should be prevented from draggling tables, chairs, desks and benches on the floors to prevent cracking and what may be done to eradicate the spoiling or destroying the infrastructure and effective teaching learning in the public primary schools.
1.5 RESEARCH QUESTIONS
The study attempts to provide answer to the following research questions:
i. What are the most valuable assets of school infrastructure and effective teaching of public primary schools?
ii. What are the measures for the proper school infrastructure and effective teaching for public primary schools items?
iii What causes damage to the infrastructure and effective teaching in public primary schools?
1.6 SCOPE OF THE STUDY
The research project is delimited with time constraints and financially handicapped. Due to lecture periods, assignments given and preparations for the semester examination, the time really not on one side to work with; likewise the financial constraints made it impossible to move for collation of materials needed for the project.
1.7 DEFINITION OF TERMS
School: A school is an administrative unit dedicated to, designed to impart knowledge and skills to learners. A school can also be refers to as a form of formal setting or educational place where individuals stays for years in a organised situation and receive lessons that is been organised or prepared and backup with a curriculum.
Infrastructure: This can be says as the basic physical and organisation structures needed for the operation of a society, enterprises services and facilities necessary for an economy to function. It can also be refers as the physical components of interrelated systems providing commodities and services essential to enable sustain or enhance societal living conditions.
Effective: According to Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English (third edition) defines effective as producing the result that was wanted or intended.
Teaching: The word teaching is a broad word to define. So, it can just be view in this third ways. The ways is as follows:
i. One of the things the teacher does.
ii. One of the arts of impacting knowledge and
iii. Ways of promoting learning.
Learning: Learning can be defined as a relatively permanent change in behaviour which is as a result of experience or is reinforced by practice.
Achievement: This can simply put as an act or process of achieving something, the need to raise standards of achievement in education.
